Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, this may include your name, email address, delivery and billing details, order contents, customer-support messages and chat conversations, payment-provider references, fulfilment and tracking information, IP address, browser/device information, request logs and essential cookies. We do not ask AZ Books to receive or store full card details.
Why we use it
We use information to take and fulfil orders, arrange delivery, process refunds, provide support, prevent fraud and protect the site, keep accounting and legal records, and improve our service. The relevant lawful bases are performance of a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests and, where required, consent for optional marketing or non-essential cookies.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with payment providers, delivery and tracking providers, email/support providers, hosting and IT providers, professional advisers and public authorities where required. Some providers may process information outside the UK; where that happens, we use the safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep order, payment and accounting information for as long as necessary to meet tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal-claim requirements. Support messages and technical logs are kept only for as long as needed for their purpose, after which information is securely deleted or anonymised where practical.
Cookies and marketing
The current storefront uses an essential session cookie for the basket and secure checkout flow. Optional analytics or marketing cookies will not be used without the required information and consent. You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time; we do not currently use customer information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Your rights
Subject to legal exceptions, you may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your information, restriction or objection to processing, and data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Email support@azbooks.co.uk to make a request.
